Soy Dream Almond Pecan Dairy Free Ice Cream
It was the hubby’s birthday last Friday and things were a little crazier than usual so I didn’t have time to bake him a homemade birthday cake we could both eat. I ended up buying him one of those generic birthday cakes at the grocery store that was of course not dairy free. So that I could share in the birthday festivities (it was only the two of us so it would have been pretty lonely if I couldn’t be involved) I bought ice cream for him and dairy free ice cream for me. I also bought sugar cones as an added treat, which I’m not sure if that was for me or for the hubby!
I have tried many different types of dairy free ice cream over the years and for years there was only rice based ice cream. I now only eat soy ice cream. And I generally only eat the Soy Dream brand and I generally only buy the Almond Pecan flavor. It is so creamy and, in my opinion, tastes much better than rice based ice cream. This ice cream is so sweet and delicious that you will have trouble not eating the whole thing in one sitting. Though I did find that it lasted longer by making ice cream cones than if I had just made a big bowl.
It is so important to be able to celebrate holidays with your loved ones even if what you eat is slightly different!
