Dairy Free Living

Hard to believe, huh?  A dairy free grilled cheese sandwich recipe that is oh so good!  This was a childhood favorite that I thought lost forever until I found the Follow Your Heart Soy cheddar cheese.  The first time I bought the  soy cheddar cheese the grilled cheese sandwich was the first recipe I had to try! (along with some mac and cheese).  I make it just like I made grilled cheese years ago.  I butter one side of two pieces of white bread (gotta have the unhealthy white bread when making dairy free grilled cheese sandwiches!).  I place one slice, butter side down, in a frying pan.  Then I slice four very thin slices of cheddar soy cheese and place on top of the slice in the pan.  Then place the second slice (butter side up!) on top of the cheese.  I then turn on the heat and press the grilled cheese sandwich with a spatula.  I flip often so each side gets to a perfect toasty brown then enjoy! 

The best part of this is that this is the first recipe I got to use where in the grilled cheese sandwich the cheese actually melts!  I love all of these new products because those of us with milk allergies get to eat the same items as those in our family and we do not have to feel left out anymore!
